Tom took a gymnastics class at the YMCA. He always asked to go in the gym when we walked past, so I signed him up. He mostly loved it and mostly listened to his teacher. Except for the time he didn't and got a bloody nose from falling off a ladder. But luckily that was the first day so he did as he was told for the rest of the classes. He was hilarious to watch. He was the only boy, and didn't know how to do a somersault or skip so when all the girls were skipping, he'd gallop around, so pleased, and shout, "MOM! This is SO FUN!" He shouted that after every trick they did.
He was so not into the wiggle/warm up dance. He stood around sheepishly while the girls danced their hearts out.
Matt graduated! I got to go with him to Virginia for it while my mom stayed with the kids. We had a fabulous time, and so did they. So proud of this guy.
Masters in Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University
We found a fun park in town with a train and pony rides! It was their dream come true.
Graycie girl started walking.
We had dirt cups for FHE treat. A huge hit.
Tom wanted to go bowling, so I made him this chart and each time he did a good deed, he got to put a pin up and when he got all 10 we went bowling.
She was desperate to get to those pins.
We survived our first tornado! I think it touched down a few places in town, but Wichita was mostly fine. It was just super rainy and dark with big hail, and there were trees and fences down but we were lucky this time. We had a fun time hiding out in the basement, though.
...and then there were blue skies a few hours later.
Tom learned how to take photos on Matt's phone. Here are a few treasures. He even snapped some of me fresh out of the shower one day (not included). Luckily I confiscated that before he texted my naked self to some poor soul.
Our friend's school had a Big Truck Night where the kids got to go in all kinds of cool vehicles. They even got to turn on the siren in the police car.
And...Matt got a job offer this week to work at two hospitals in DENVER! Hooray for a job and hooray for being closer to our families! We move on June 22nd.
LOVE the bowling chart! And CONGRATS on graduation and Denver!! So exciting!
ReplyDeleteDenver!!!! Seriously?!?! So sad to miss you just by a few short months. Which hospital? I have several nurse friends in Denver. Call me if you want any pointers. Miss you!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I love this post. I burst out laughing at a few. Tom is such a cool kid. I love his shot bowling with his arms in the air. I love that Grayce can have hair-dos now too! She's so big!

So many things! I don't even know where to start, so I'll just say, congratulations on Denver!
ReplyDeleteYour kids are hilarious! And congrats on the job. We loved living in Denver!! Check out the Highlands Ranch area, just south of Denver. Perfect community that is very family friendly with miles and miles of running/biking paths. We miss Colorado!! Good luck!
