kitchen duties

The elders came over tonight and I felt like making a festive Valentine dessert, so we had a berry trifle. Naturally, Tom and I went to work on the remains when they left.

He was all sugared up for bed and got really loud and enthusiastic about his book reading. He's got violent tendencies lately. When he narrates, all the vehicles are crashing and all the characters are bonking their heads.

Here we are, 34 weeks. I'm in major nesting mode over here. It helps that we're also trying to lighten our moving load, so everything I see around the house is in danger of going to Goodwill or the trash. We have quite a pile already. It feels great.

This new addition also feels great. We moved the old one to our bedroom so we could keep all our other books on it instead of in Tom's closet.

My friend bought this suit for her baby at a sale yesterday and I went right out and bought the same one. How could I not? I imagined Grayce's chubby thighs in there and I was practically forced to drive to the mall and purchase it.

That being said, I also happened to read this post on Matt's cousin's blog today. And since I technically made money on this transaction today because I had to return something as well, I'm still counting myself as eligible. We'll see how it goes. I love this kind of thing.

I just realized it's my half birthday. Happy 24.5 to me!
