This morning while Thomas was eating breakfast I caught this guy picking at our hanging basket. He's been at it for a while--we've noticed significant holes in the lining lately. I don't blame him, it's a great idea for nest material. Soon his lady joined him and they both took off with beakfuls of the stuff. Little rascals. Please excuse the blinds...I was holding the baby and struggling to get good pictures.

This afternoon, I stepped out to take the trash out and check the mail, and there was the sweetest little white and turquiose parakeet on my doorstep. I ran inside to get something to put her in, when I came back she was gone. On my way back from taking the trash I saw her against the side of our building. I was crouched down trying to scoop her when my cute, pregnant neighbor came out and asked what I was doing. I don't actually want a pet bird, but I couldn't just leave her outside because it was very cold and starting to snow. My neighbor helped me catch her and we brought her safely inside. She is currently on top of our card table, flapping around underneath a laundry basket. I'm going to put up found signs soon, and hopefully the owner will call. Until then, anyone want a pet bird?
