I've always wanted to make one of these things, and saw my chance when a bunch of these poor carnations were in the trash with broken stems. It took almost 75 to make this little guy! It's too fun--I just want to pat it every time I walk by.
I saved my favorite for my nightstand because it smells so great. Notice Matt's adorable kindergarten picture. Such a teddy bear.
Speaking of plants, here's our little garden on the front porch. Since we don't have a piece of dirt to our name, we decided to put some pots out front to keep our neighbor busy while we've been gone this summer. We've got basil in the hanging basket, a tomato plant, some peonies and a cute yellow dahlia. The peonies aren't doing much this time of year except trying to get along through the heat, but we've really enjoyed having all these little guys to look after. Hopefully our tomatoes will turn red and juicy soon. And somebody's been neglecting their basil...maybe I'll pick them all at once and make some pesto. Some day.
Anyhow, I had a great birthday. Alli spent the night while Matt was gone and we went shopping and ate at Costa Vida. SO good. When Matt got home, we went out to eat (again! I'm so spoiled), went shopping and bought two really cute dresses, and saw a movie. And so far 22 is fabulous:)

I LOVE this post and all the beautiful flowers. Happy Birthday! Here in Las Vegas we have managed to murder many a plant and flower and have decided to give up so I have to live vicariously through people who don't live in a desert. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteMatt would most definitely want you to have some birthday flowers! Very intuitive of you! So glad you had a "Ball of Happy" on your birthday! I was given one of those while in the hospital when Macie was born. Someone had donated their wedding flowers to the hospital and the Ball of Happy was my favorite!! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to YOU!!! Love you!
