a summer haircut

It's super hot over here. I wish I could give myself this haircut and sill dare to be seen in public. We try not to go outside unless we're headed straight for the pool. But with Tom we never go straight anywhere because he feels the need to walk up the steps to every porch on the way and try to knock on the door. Or pick up stray toys and refuse to relinquish them. Or scamper off in the wrong direction. So we're pretty sweaty by the time we reach the pool. The good news is, he loves the pool, so we'll be spending lots of time there this summer.

Tom is so funny and cute these days. I know I've always said that, but it gets truer every time. He understands what I'm saying now and it's so fun when I tell him to go get his shoes so we can go outside or bring me a book so I can read to him. His newest thing is saying "hi" with a cheesy grin. He mostly does it around the house, like when he enters a room or if I'm doing something besides playing with him.
